New Frontier Minerals (ASX:NFM) has confirmed a dominance of high-value heavy rare earth elements (HREEs) at both the Cusp and Bobs Prospects at its Harts Range Project in the NT.
The news comes at a time when global demand for these rare metals is surging after China announced new export restrictions, sharpening the focus on alternative sources.
High concentration of HREEs
Rock chip sampling and rare earth oxide analysis across 25 samples from both prospects revealed a particularly high concentration of dysprosium and terbium, two of the most valuable heavy rare earths.
At the Cusp Prospect, Dysprosium Oxide accounted for 11.75% and Terbium Oxide for 1.87% of the total rare earth oxide (TREO) basket.
Similarly strong results were observed at Bobs, with heavy rare earths making up over 97% of the rare earth mix, including standout Yttrium content (71.06%), Dysprosium (8.75%) and Terbium (1.18%).
Adding further interest is the geological consistency between the two prospects. Located just 1.6km apart along the same east-west structure, both Cusp and Bobs show similar mineralisation and geological settings, improving the project’s overall exploration upside.
